Schmidt Investigations & Research offers an array of legal services and can assist during many phases of criminal and civil trial preparation.

Investigations
Among other services, we:

 - Review and analyze discovery, and devise efficient and cost effective investigative plans.  

- Interview alleged victims or  witnesses, and prepare clear, concise, easily comprehendible summaries.

- Attend attorney-conducted interviews or meetings and provide documentation of the same.

- Conduct background investigations to uncover derogatory information, falsehoods, potential bias, or motive. 

- Locate defendants or witnesses for service of process.

- Retrieve police reports or other needed public records.

- Testify as an independent witness for impeachment or other purposes.

- Provide trial support and assistance.

Research
One of our specialties is searching and procuring public records. Public records can be used to:

- Ascertain a party's assets and liabilities when considering whether to file suit.*

- Locate assets to satisfy a judgment.

- Determine the reliability and financial stability of a potential business partner or client.

- Discover undisclosed information about a party's background or verify assertions that have been made.

- Locate defendants, witnesses, lost heirs, birth parents, or individuals who are otherwise considered missing.

*All assets searches are Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act compliant.  As such, pretexting is not used to obtain bank account or bokerage account information.
